Dainty Eating
I was having lunch with my friend Lisa and noticed how she was taking little forkfuls of food and putting her fork down in between bites. It occurred to me that I was eating very mindless and fast, in a kind of shoveling motion.
Watching her daintily eat her lunch prompted me to slow down. This is something that we can all do. Notice the person eating across from you. Are they rushing, tasting, enjoying, experiencing the food? Are you?
These are my “Lovely Dainty Eating Ladies” who are slowly tasting my delights at a cooking class. After examining the picture, I noticed the little bend in their pinkies as they are tasting which indicates to me that they were eating with mindfulness and a slowness. No one here has a shovel in their hand. Eating slowly and mindfully works wonders for your body and your soul.
How dainty can you be?
It is very difficult to eat Rosie’s dishes slowly. Each one is more delicious than the next. I NEVER enjoyed healthy foods as much as I do now since I met Rosie.
