I was quite unmotivated this morning until I started to write to you.
Now this is unusual for me and I know once I get there I will feel instantly better. But it’s the getting there part that sucks. It’s where my struggle lies today. I’ve created every excuse possible to talk myself OUT of going for a workout, including writing this blog.
I have a bad attitude.
This is me making a face and complaining. If you work out with a bad attitude, I guarantee, you’ll have a bad workout.
Here I am again a changed woman with a new attitude and a smile (even it you have to fake it – do it – it works). When you smile it changes everything and you really do feel instantly better.
So how can you shift your energy to muster up the energy to get moving?
Change your attitude and fall in love with the idea of working out.
Think about how good it is for you and how good you’ll feel after you have accomplished what you set out to do.
Look into the mirror and fix your face, turn up the corners of your mouth and smile into the mirror.
Do not complain or focus on how hard it is. Think instead about this idea: “If I can get thru this workout, I can get thru anything”.
Keep your plan simple. It can be short and sweet but super effective.
My cardio plan today is 30 minutes short. 5 minute warmup, 2 minute walk, 1 minute sprint, 2 minute walk, 1 minute sprint, and continue until the 30 minutes is up.
