Don’t be fooled by the REAL CHICKEN BROTH ! How interesting to mention on the front of the box that the chicken broth is REAL. As opposed to the rest of the ingredients that are not? The promise of real chicken broth is not a reason to ingest this very processed fake substance.

What can you do instead?

You got it! Make your own with few ingredients in minutes. Really!!

My naked stuffing calls for real food!

  • ezekiel bread
  • green apple
  • raisins
  • celery
  • walnuts
  • onion
  • fresh chopped rosemary and sage
  • salt and pepper

I love to use Ezekiel bread for stuffing. Read more about why this sprouted bread is so much better for you here > FOOD FOR LIFE.

Here’s how to make NAKED STUFFING that won’t make you feel fat, bloated or stuffed.

Cut up one half loaf of ezekiel bread into cubes. Set aside in bowl.

Toast 1 cup walnuts in a very hot pan. Add to bowl.

Saute chopped onion, diced apple, chopped celery in 1 tbsp coconut oil until soft.  Add handful of rosemary and sage and cook for another 3 minutes. Add to bowl.

Add 1 cup chicken (or vegetable) stock. Remember to read that label if you are not using fresh. Try brands like  PACIFIC which is as close to clean and naked as you can get in a box.

Place in casserole dish or in large muffin tins (to make stuffing muffins and a very fun way to serve it up).

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until firm and set.  YUMMMM-azing !

  1. I haven’t had Stovetop dressing since I was in my 20s and didn’t know how to cook. I like your recipe and am going to modify it, since I can not eat seeds or nuts. No Ezekiel for me. No walnuts, either. But I am going to use apples and chestnuts and whole wheat bread.

  2. Hey Rosie my friend, can’t wait to try this. I’m an Ezekiel Bread user from way back…sounds yummmmy!. But can you share a recipe for a healthy gravy? Jus sayin’
