Why being gorgeous is important

Throughout my 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, I had no idea that I was “gorgeous”. I didn’t even think I was pretty. I didn’t think much of me at all. Except that I was really good at finding every imperfection imaginable about me. All of me from my feet that were too big, to my toes that were uneven, to my lips that were too thick, to my eyebrows that were too bushy and my breasts that were too small.
Yup. All of me rolled up into one big imperfect mess. I was never able to find comfort in my body, no matter what state it was in. The pounds came on and off, to the tune of 600 when I last counted, up and down and down and up. Not all at one time, ha. But over the years of yo-yo-ing, that was the result. At either place, thinner or thicker, I still did not feel gorgeous. And to add to the pounds, because I was uncomfortable with ME, I looked for love from others, and found myself in uncomfortable relationships too.
Sound familiar?
Looking back at photos, I say, WTF was I thinking. I certainly see the stunning gorgeous beauty staring back at me now. But I was blind to it then. Blind to my “gorgeous” divine self.
So I struggled and struggled, until I had enough. I finally learned and understand what BEING Gorgeous is really all about.
THE STORY OF HOW GORGEOUS TEXTED ME AND ENTERED MY WORLD.
One day while lying in bed alone, I received a text. She said, “I hope that someone tells you how GORGEOUS you are every nite”. This comment touched something so deep in me. I felt sad and unimportant and alone. Then I realized that if I felt this way, there must be others that felt it too. I couldn’t figure out how to get someone to call me “gorgeous”.
This idea stayed with me for a while. Then one day I decided that I would address every woman I met by this very term. So began my “Gorgeous” journey and brand rebuilding. (You can see my by website and The Gorgeous Kit which was lovingly named for this experience, that GORGEOUS is big in my world). This idea changed my heart. I discovered that many recipients found it challenging to receive this title when addressed to them.
As I addressed others by this term, something crazy amazing began to happen. Random people started to address me as such. People I had never had a conversation with before, no matter where I went. It was like magic. Hey gorgeous, hello gorgeous, good morning gorgeous, you are gorgeous became consistent and continuous.
And what I discovered was a gift.
THE GIFT OF GORGEOUSNESS.
Gorgeous is a state of mind. It’s an acceptance. It’s a gift. It’s who YOU really are. Underneath all the mucky, ucky and crappy thoughts you surround it with. When you let go of those silly ideas, you find “Gorgeous” just waiting for you to let her out.
Once I embraced this idea and FELT it, I could own it. That is what I did. So if you call out Gorgeous in a crowed room, I will answer. That’s the way I roll these days. Its quite freeing on this side of gorgeous. I don’t have to worry about anything, pounds, breasts or brows. I just get to BE that. I am THAT. And so my dear Gorgeous One who is reading this post, YOU ARE GORGEOUS TOO.
What is so important about you BEING gorgeous and owning that fact?
“BEING” gorgeous means I can walk into every room like it’s my party. I can stand in confidence and sexy power. Being gorgeous allows me to dress my best to express my uniqueness, and be who I really truly am. Because that is gorgeous. Being gorgeous allows me to release judgment of myself and others, to own all the parts of me that make up this whole being.
Because when you can see the gorgeousness in your own divine self, you can see it in others. You’ll act differently around other people. They’ll be inspired by you. They’ll want to share their gorgeousness with you. And everybody wins.
I’ll explain more in this video.
