Nature’s Homemade Naked Candy

Once you try nature’s homemade naked candy, you won’t want anything else. It’s all a matter of getting used to something different.

The difference between natures candy and manufactured stuff is that this is the real deal.

And after you eat one or two. Or three or four. You’ll be full and satisfied but not sick or in a sugar coma.

Walking around in a sugar fog is not fun. I’ve decided that at my age and stage, I honor this body for the precious divine body it is and I treat it that way. That includes “treating” it well with treats that are naked, not fake. As a matter of fact, at this amazing age and stage I have decided that fake is not in my vocabulary, whether you are talking about food or relationships or anything. I much prefer the real deal.

These stuffed dates were a big hit at my Ladies Group.  They taste really good frozen and cold.

And then I stuffed the yummy mejool dates.

Using 2 filling options:

Chocolate Nut Crunch

  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao
  • 3 figs (or dates)
  • pinch of sea salt

Vanilla Coconut Creme

  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1/4 c coconut butter (or shredded coconut)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • stevia
  • sprinkled with cinnamon

YUM. Once you mix the filling, you simply remove the pit, stuff the date with the filling and close it right back up.

The wrapping part is the best part. Because they really look like candy.  Two of these beauties with a cup of tea are the perfect little satisfying sweet snack.

The beautiful presentation is part of the gift.

Imagine if someone gave you a box of this candy? Perhaps you’ll consider making it for yourSelf or sharing with someone you love.

  1. I love this idea! I’ve gone on a sugar detox to start off the new year. No added sugars, but I still eat naturally sweet, whole foods like fruit and dates. I’ve discovered that date syrup works just as well as maple syrup in oatmeal, and I’ve also discovered that I really, REALLY like 100% pure cacao chocolate bars. Did you mix the ingredients in a food processor? I’m guessing you at least chopped up the nuts, though it looks like there is a whole almond on top of each of the dates stuffed with the chocolate nut crunch.

  2. Hi Rosie,
This recipe looks amazing! I’m wondering if you soak the nuts used in the filling, or use them dry? Can’t wait to try these. I stuff my medjools with organic peanut butter, or organic cream cheese with orange zest added and a drop of orange doterra essential oil. Yum. Thanks
